What began as an empty white box became a thoughtfully layered living room filled with color, character, and personal touches. In Philadelphia’s historic Old City neighborhood, The Collected Flat is a transformation of my own living room, reflecting my belief that beautiful interior design doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch.
Rather than replacing everything, I embraced what was already there. Existing furnishings were reimagined alongside vintage finds, original artwork, sculptural lighting, and a mix of wood, stone, chrome, and textured fabrics. A new space plan and vibrant layers of color and pattern brought warmth, personality, and functionality to this urban apartment.
The result is a collected, eclectic interior that feels both refined and lived-in, a personal reflection of how thoughtful design can transform a space while honoring what makes it uniquely yours.
What makes this space especially personal is that it’s my own home, a place where my love of art, vintage finds, and thoughtfully collected objects comes together in one place where, no matter where you look, something is interesting and still highly functional.
Rather than designing around a single style or replacing everything with something new, I embraced the pieces I already loved, created original artwork, and introduced new elements with intention. Each detail tells part of a larger story, creating a home that feels layered, expressive, and distinctly my own.
