This space is where I’ll be sharing my design process, project updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and thoughtful tips to help homeowners feel more confident and informed at every stage of the interior design journey. Whether you’re planning a full renovation or simply refining the way your home feels day to day, my goal is to offer guidance that feels both approachable and inspiring.
A Lifelong Love of Interior Design
My passion for interior design began long before it became my career. As a child, I was constantly drawing buildings, room layouts, and imagined interiors. I’d sometimes skip recess just to sketch room designs and furniture arrangements, fascinated by how spaces, colors, and textures could shape how people feel in their homes.
For birthdays and holidays, I didn’t ask for much, just interior design magazines. I pored over HGTV Magazine, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and Architectural Digest, flipping through them again and again, studying layouts, material choices, color combinations, and the emotional impact of a well-designed room. Even then, I was learning how thoughtful design could transform a space.
When I wasn’t immersed in magazines, I was watching design shows, always absorbing, always learning. At the time, I didn’t know interior design would become my profession, but the foundation was already being built.
Designing with Resourcefulness and Heart
Growing up, we didn’t always have much, but what we had was deeply cherished. I saved my own money to help decorate my mom’s apartment, sourcing thrifted pieces and antique furniture whenever possible. One of my first projects was refinishing an old dresser, sanding it by hand, learning about primers, paint, and stain, and figuring things out through trial, error, and curiosity.
Those early furniture flips taught me the value of reuse, sustainability, and creativity. Principles that still guide my work today. By my teenage years, I had completed several small projects, from refinishing furniture and styling spaces to assisting with home updates and renovations. Along the way, I built not only a growing collection of tools but also a foundation of hands-on experience that shaped how I approach design. I was raised by family members who instilled in me the importance of grit, determination, and wholehearted effort, values that continue to shape the way I approach both my work and my life.
I vividly remember hoping that if I made my mom’s apartment beautiful enough, it might somehow be featured in a magazine or on HGTV. That dream may have been naive, but the passion behind it was genuine, and it has never left me.
From Graphic Design to Interior Design
Years later, I earned my undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from Mansfield University. Even then, interior design found its way into nearly every open-ended project. Eventually, I knew I needed to return to school this time, to formally study interior design through The Interior Design Institute.
That decision led me here.
Austin Seeley Interiors Today
I launched Austin Seeley Interiors in mid-2025 with a clear vision: to create beautiful, personal, and sustainable luxury interiors for clients in Philadelphia and beyond. We are a full-service residential interior design studio focused on designing homes that feel timeless, livable, and thoughtfully layered.
Every space we design is rooted in how our clients truly live, balancing comfort, function, and elevated aesthetics to create homes that feel both refined and deeply personal.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: a thoughtfully designed space can genuinely improve your mood, mindset, and quality of life.
